We stock the proven six-layer film as roll material with a length of 18 running meters for large areas. It delivers 20–33 dB magnetic field shielding at 50 Hz depending on the number of layers installed.

The M6L-85 is a magnetic field shielding film for shielding low-frequency magnetic fields. It is highly resistant with laminating film on both sides, making it suitable as an intermediate layer in roof or floor constructions. Single-layer installation offers the best price-to-performance ratio; for higher magnetic flux densities, multi-layer installation is required.

The product features 6 very thin shielding foils connected together—several thin layers provide better shielding than one thick sheet. The high-tech material has high initial permeability and high saturation induction from 5 Hz.

We recommend it for small surfaces in a domestic environment, as well as for large surfaces in construction, trade or industry. Additionally, there are various application possibilities in cars, electric vehicles, vans, mobile homes, and campers.

Processing & Installation

Safety Notice

Attention: The M6L-series can be cut with high-quality scissors. The cutting edges are very sharp and must be protected (e.g. with fabric tape) immediately after cutting. Use cut-resistant gloves during processing. We recommend planning the installation so that cutting is minimised. For larger wall areas, ensure the material acts as a water vapour barrier where required.

Processing with Adhesive

Only a few adhesives bond laminating film made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate). For secure bonding, we recommend an acrylate-based PSA (pressure-sensitive) adhesive, which produces permanently self-adhesive layers. For wet bonding, work quickly and on small areas so corrections can still be made. Non-absorbent substrates or multiple layers can be problematic because the solvent may not dry out due to the vapor-tight film. With dry bonding, you get immediate, very strong adhesion.

Application with Stapler or Nailer

If the substrate is suitable, use an electric stapler or nailer. For one layer including overlap, a medium-priced electric tacker is sufficient; for two or more layers, a professional nailer is recommended. The shielding surface must overlap by at least 2 cm.

Multilayer Installation

Always install the film in an offset position—each new layer should cover the overlapping seam of the layer underneath.
