Swiss-Shield® NATURELL ARBOR FR™ | Fire protection shielding fabric
Product Overview
Swiss Shield Naturell Arbor FR is a fire-protection shielding fabric — the world's first to achieve fire protection class 5.3 under EU standard EN 13773. It was engineered for buildings with strict fire-safety requirements such as hospitals, aged-care homes and public facilities, while also providing excellent shielding against high-frequency (HF) electromagnetic radiation.
The fabric is built on LENZING™ Lyocell FR fibres, which retain their fire-protection class even under heat or chemical exposure, woven with Swiss Shield's patented silvered-copper yarn for around 40 dB of HF attenuation. The Lyocell fibre is derived from certified renewable wood through an ecologically responsible process.
Please note this is a pre-order item with a delivery time of 1–2 weeks. It is sold in 30 cm lengths (250 cm wide × 30 cm); multiple quantities are cut as one continuous length.

Composition: 82% LENZING™ Lyocell FR, 17% copper, 1% silver
Construction: spun with a 0.02 mm silvered-copper thread
Colour: ecru-white, translucent
Weight: approx. 69 g/m²

Fire Protection
Rating: fire protection class 5.3 under EU standard EN 13773 — a world first for a shielding fabric
Testing: fire performance verified by EMPA
Shielding Performance
High-frequency (HF) shielding attenuation. Measurements are conducted from 600 MHz to 40 GHz per ASTM D4935-10 / IEEE Std 299-2006; representative values:
- 900 MHz (GSM): 37 dB
- 1.8 GHz (GSM): 35 dB
- 2.45 GHz (Bluetooth / Wi-Fi): 34 dB
- 5.8 GHz (Wi-Fi): 27 dB
- 9.5 GHz (X-band radar): 20 dB
Surface: non-conductive (PES-coated). Internal conductive parts cannot be contacted or grounded, so individual panels do not shield low-frequency (LF) electric fields. Used as a full Faraday cage (all six sides), it removes LF electric fields inside, verifiable by potential-free measurement.
Certification
OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 and EN 13773 fire protection class 5.3.
