YSHIELD® DRY54 | Shielding paint powder | 3 litre
Shielding paint powder for rooms and buildings
YSHIELD DRY54 is a carbon shielding paint supplied as a powder for mixing with water. It is for interior walls, ceilings and floors. It shields high-frequency fields (HF) and low-frequency electric fields (LF). Breathable, solvent-free, plasticiser-free, low-emission, and made without a preservative.
Powder for 3 litres of mixed paint. Long shelf life without preservatives. TÜV-SÜD certified. Attenuation figures below are at 1 GHz unless stated, tested 600 MHz–40 GHz to IEEE Std 299-2006.
This is the powder alternative to YSHIELD’s liquid paints. Manufacturer notes: attenuation, film hardness and abrasion resistance are lower than the liquid range; mixing takes extra time; it is the right choice when you want no preservatives, long storage, and lower shipping weight. Coarsely pigmented (80 µm); forms a relatively soft film. Apply with a roller after mixing.
Coverage (mixed paint)
About 4–8 m² per litre, depending on substrate and coat thickness.
Screening attenuation
At a yield of 4 m²/l (thick coat):
At 1 GHz: Single layer 40 dB | Double layer 48 dB
At a yield of 8 m²/l (thin coat):
At 1 GHz: Single layer 33 dB | Double layer 41 dB
Manufacturer also publishes higher attenuation at 40 GHz (up to 84 dB on their data sheet). Use the 1 GHz figures for comparison with HSF54 and other YSHIELD paints.
Mixing
Mix the powder with water. You will need digital scales, a protective mask, safety glasses, YSHIELD AR42 stirrer (or equivalent), a mixing bucket, and a drill/driver. The mix is very thin at first (little dust); it thickens after about 10 minutes’ rest, then rolls on. Allow about 30 minutes. Vacuum-packed bags; keep dry. Frost-resistant as powder.
Substrate
Interior use. Manufacturer recommends walls, ceilings and floors, including more difficult interior substrates. Not the first choice where you need the hardest film or exterior durability — use HSF54 or the relevant liquid grade for that.
Top coating
Cover with a compatible water-based emulsion, dispersion silicate, facade or silicone-resin paint after the shielding coat has cured, per the technical data sheet.
Optional: Fibre additive AF3
For crack bridging and grounding, YSHIELD fibre additive AF3 (long conductive carbon fibres) is the usual accessory.
Ingredients
Untreated natural graphite, carbon black, pure acrylics powder, additives, no preservative.
Technical data
Full application data is in the YSHIELD technical data sheet (print it for site use — no label on the bag).
No nanotechnology
YSHIELD shielding paints are formulated without graphene. They use low-emission carbon black and untreated natural graphite.
TÜV-SÜD certification
YSHIELD shielding paints are monitored by TÜV-SÜD (TM-07: ingredients, emissions, production monitoring). This grade is specified as low-VOC, plasticiser-free (SVOC) and solvent-free.
Grounding
This product has an electrically conductive surface and must be integrated into functional-equipotential bonding (FEB). Use YSHIELD grounding accessories (interior typically GSX strap plus GS/GF plate). Do not use ungrounded.
Shielding attenuation HF & LF
This product shields high-frequency electromagnetic fields (HF). Unless otherwise stated, dB values apply at 1 GHz. Measurement from 600 MHz to 40 GHz according to IEEE Std 299-2006 (YSHIELD also references ASTM D4935-10 on older sheets).
The electrically conductive surface also shields low-frequency alternating electric fields (LF) when grounded.
