Aus Sec USB-A Data Blocker

The Aus Sec USB-A Data Blocker is a small adapter that lets you charge from an unfamiliar USB-A port without opening a data connection to your device. It sits between the port and your charging cable, and its data pins are physically blocked, so the only thing that passes through is power. Keep one in your bag or laptop case for airport charging stations, hotel rooms, cafes, hire cars and shared office desks.

Key Features

  • Charge Only: The data pins are physically blocked, so the port cannot read from or write to your device while it charges.
  • USB-A Plug: Plugs into a standard USB-A port, wall charger or car charger, and your existing USB-A charging cable plugs into it.
  • Aluminium Alloy Shell: A durable metal housing that stands up to life in a pocket or bag.
  • Short-Circuit Protection: Built-in protection against short circuits.
  • No Setup: No software, drivers or settings. Plug it in and charge.
  • Aus Security Products Branding: Laser-etched with the Aus Security Products logo.

What is juice jacking?

A USB connection carries power and data on separate pins. Juice jacking is when a public charging port or kiosk has been tampered with to use those data pins, either to copy information from a connected device or to try to install malicious software. A data blocker stops the data side of the connection from reaching your device, which removes that route while you charge.

  • Anyone who would rather not plug a phone straight into a port they don't control

Your own wall charger is always the safest option, but it isn't always practical when you're travelling. The Aus Sec USB-A Data Blocker gives you a simple safeguard for the times you have to rely on someone else's USB port.
