YSHIELD® A190 Shielding Fleece (90cm, per metre)
Product Overview
The YSHIELD® A190 is a professionally engineered shielding fleece offering a record-breaking 112 dB attenuation — the highest shielding performance YSHIELD has ever achieved in a series product. A mechanically robust cellulose fleece laminated on one side with a thick micro-needled aluminium foil, the A190 delivers exceptional RF blocking while remaining highly permeable to water vapour, making it suitable for a wide range of indoor shielding installations.
The micro-needling process creates 200,000 tiny holes per square metre. These apertures are small enough to have zero effect on shielding performance while allowing moisture to pass freely through the material — an important property in wall and ceiling applications where vapour management matters. Manufactured in-house at YSHIELD in Germany.

Installation
Substrate Preparation
Absorbent or chalky substrates must be pre-treated with a suitable primer before installation. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and structurally sound prior to application.
Orientation Options
- Aluminium side towards the room: Technically the best shielding solution. Strips can be easily bonded together using GSX earthing tape. Also compatible with wallpaper replacement primer if future removal is required.
- White side towards the room: Visually cleaner result that is easy to rework and finish.
Adhesive and Overlap
Use adhesive suitable for heavy wallpaper on the fleece side. Cellulose adhesive does not adhere to the aluminium side — use PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) for the aluminium surface. For best shielding results, sheets should be applied with overlapping edges, bonded with PSA adhesive and smoothed with a fine putty. Ensure a neutral pH (4–9) for all contact materials in direct contact with the aluminium layer.
Grounding
This product has an electrically conductive surface and must be integrated into the functional-equipotential bonding (FEB) system. Grounding must be carried out by a licensed electrician in compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and applicable NCC requirements. Use GSX grounding tape to bond strips and connect to the building earth. Failure to ground a conductive shielding surface presents an electric shock risk and compromises low-frequency electric field shielding effectiveness.
Applications
- Interior wall and ceiling shielding installations
- Residential RF protection from smart meters, Wi-Fi, 5G towers and wireless devices
- Commercial and corporate EMF shielding
- SCIF and EMF-controlled zone construction (interior layers)
- Any indoor application requiring combined HF + LF electric field shielding
