Aus Security OBD2 Port Lock – Keyed Anti-Theft Protection
Stop direct access to your vehicle's diagnostic port
The OBD-II port under your dashboard gives mechanics direct access to your vehicle's computer. On some vehicles, the same port can be misused to connect key-programming equipment, override security systems and program another key.
The Aus Security OBD2 Port Lock places a keyed metal barrier over that socket. Once fitted, a device cannot simply be plugged into the port. The lock must first be opened and removed with the supplied key and security tool.
Victoria Police recommends OBD port locks for vehicles with electronic push-button start. This kit gives you a practical way to add that protection without modifying your vehicle's electronics or wiring.

How to install it
- Turn the vehicle off and remove the key or key fob.
- Locate the OBD-II port, usually beneath the dashboard on the driver's side.
- Check the available clearance and confirm that the mounting plate fits without forcing the connector or surrounding trim.
- Secure the mounting plate with two of the supplied screws and the security driver.
- Fit the metal lock over the port and lock it with the supplied key.
- Check that the diagnostic socket is fully covered.
When the vehicle needs servicing, unlock and remove the cap before giving the vehicle to your mechanic. Refit it afterwards and keep the spare key and removal tool somewhere secure, not inside the vehicle.
Will it fit my vehicle?
This is a universal OBD2 port lock designed for most modern cars, SUVs, utes and light commercial vehicles with a standard, accessible 16-pin OBD-II/OBD2 diagnostic connector. LANKEN, the manufacturer of the M03-style lock, states that it has tested the design on many OBD2 ports and that it works with almost all types of cars.
It is not a make- or model-specific kit: final fitment depends on the connector housing, mounting tabs, surrounding trim and the amount of space beneath the dashboard. Check the port and clearance before installation. Do not force the lock onto an incompatible or damaged connector.
If the port is deeply recessed or trim needs to be removed, ask a mechanic or auto electrician to check the fit and install it for you.
One part of a layered car security setup
This lock is designed to deter theft methods that require direct access to the OBD-II port. It does not prevent someone entering the cabin, amplifying a key fob signal, attacking the CAN bus directly or towing the vehicle.
For better protection, use it alongside locked doors, secure parking, a visible steering-wheel lock, a Faraday pouch for keyless fobs and a suitable immobiliser where recommended.
